What a day will hold
“This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
As we have recently celebrated the day Jesus Christ was born, I’ve been reminded of this world-altering event that occurred on a specific day in time. Because I believe that day was marked by God as profoundly intentional, I can’t help but believe that every day—however monumental or ordinary—matters in the timeline of eternity.
That you and I share this very day of life here on earth not only matters but is significant in light of eternity and the coming Kingdom of God. While we are given days to work, days to play, and days to rest, none are unimportant. So, as we embark upon a new year—very specifically, the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-six—may we do so with the intentionality with which we were created to “live and breathe and have our being,” “for such a time as this” (Acts 17:28; Esther 4:14).
Only God knows what a day will hold, and I know I want to be ready for whatever that may be.
