Praising God every step of the way

"… And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.” Ezra 3:11

In reflecting on Ezra 3, verse 11 stood out to me as the people praised the LORD when the foundation of the temple was laid. They recognized that this moment—the laying of the foundation—was a worthy place to pause and praise God. This reminds me that we are to praise God always—not just upon the completion of His work in, among, and through us, but at every step along the way.

God is no less worthy of our praise at the beginning or mid-point of our journeys than He is at the end. We are invited to praise Him every day, in all things. He is worthy of glory, and His glory is for our good because our hearts align with whatever we glorify, so as we glorify God, our hearts align with Him.
