Abiding through every season
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
I have a little note on my computer screen at work with the following reminder from the late Andrew Murray, and I thought it might serve as an encouragement to someone else as well.
Wherever you find yourself today
—in a pit, a prison, or a palace—
you are here by God’s appointment,
in His keeping,
under His training,
for His timing.
I find this helpful to hold on to because it reminds me that as we abide in Christ, no matter the season or situation, there is always purpose—a purpose greater than we may recognize or comprehend in the moment, the season, or even this side of eternity. So, as the Apostle Paul charged the church in Galatia, let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
May you find joy and peace wherever you are today, trusting in the One who has appointed you.
